Little Onions Childcare is managed by Kerry and Ross and is located in the Wigston area of Leicestershire.
Our setting is run from our family home, which we share with four of children.
Prior to childminding, we worked as a teaching assistant and teacher at our local primary school.
We both have a love of books and the outdoors.
We look forward to welcoming your child into our setting, where their days will be filled with high-quality learning, adventures and excitement.
As a couple enthusiastic about the ‘Curiosity Approach’, our learning environment is calm and aims to be an extension of the children’s own home. All of our learning areas are centred around a large garden where children can free-flow between sheltered areas and outdoor learning opportunities. Our aim to use as many natural resources as possible to develop children’s learning.
Children can find a quiet space to read, reflect or rest in our reading shack or explore the garden.
Inside, equipment is kept at waist height to develop children’s independence and is linked with a book to invite their interest and encourage a love of reading.
We are located close to the local library, parks and community centres, all of which we visit regularly.

We are passionate to ensure that the service we provide is inclusive to all the children in our care. We work closely with parents and carers to establish what provisions we can put into place to support every child in our care. We have experience working with children who have a range of different needs, including ASD and ADHD, while working at a local primary school.
