About Me

We have been working together since November 2000 and in January 2013, Debbie’s husband, Stuart joined the team as our assistant.

We both hold childcare qualifications; Angela has an N.N.E.B and a level 4, The Early Years; Developing Practice and Debbie has an NVQ in childcare and education and a BA (hons) in Early Years.

We are both members of PACEY, (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years) as is Stuart and have our public liability insurance with them. Over the years we have attended many different training courses and always ensure that our first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene is kept up to date.

We all very much believe that in order for children to be able to learn, they need to feel safe and secure within their environment and build strong attachments with those who care for them. We also believe that children learn best through play and self-discovery, and by caring for children of mixed ages within the same environment, they learn from each other.

My Setting

We can offer your child;

Individual care and attention.

Fun and friendship with others.

Freedom to choose from a wide range of activities but with adult encouragement to extend their interests and learning.

Ongoing observational assessment on each child as an individual in order to plan for their continuing development through play-based activities.

We can offer you;

Confidential and informal discussions regarding your child’s interests and progress.

A partnership, working together to meet the individual needs of your child.

Support and advice on the wellbeing of your child.

A professional working relationship based on respect for you as parents and ourselves as professionals. This is vital for identifying a child’s learning needs and style and can encourage a quick response to any area of particular difficulty.

You as parents and family units are central to your child's wellbeing and we as practitioners will support this important relationship by sharing information and offering to support learning in the home.

Provisions

Our services are available for everyone, and we recognize that all children develop differently and have different strengths and capabilities.

We have working links with our local inclusion team who are always available to provide support if needed.

We have close links with three local schools that we currently do drop off and picks ups with, we also do nursery wraparound care.

The local schools are Hillcross Primary, Hatfeild Primary and St. John Fisher Primary.

We also attend local toddler groups and have good connections with other local childminders, forming a mini network.
