Hi, my name is Tara, and I am the owner of Bonnie Bears Childminding.
Bonnie Bears is a warm, home-from-home setting where little bears can learn, play, and
grow. Our home is filled with love, laughter, and care, creating a relaxed family
atmosphere where children feel safe, valued, and confident to be themselves.
I have 18 years’ experience in childcare and education. My background includes working
within primary school settings from Foundation Stage to Year 2, supporting all primary
ages as a mealtime assistant, working in holiday clubs with children aged 5–10, and
gaining experience across baby, toddler, and preschool rooms in a variety of nursery
settings. Alongside my professional experience, I am also a mum to my own children
aged 14, 13, 8, and 18 months, and live with my husband Grant, our children, and our
friendly beagle Delilah in our home in Sherford.
I carefully plan a balance of child-led and adult-led activities, following children’s interests while supporting their learning and development. I
absolutely love working with themes, exploring the seasons, and celebrating a wide range of festivals and special occasions. Sensory and
messy play are a big part of our days, including water play, sand, and our much-loved mud kitchen. Our back garden is fun, engaging, and
thoughtfully set up to be safe and developmentally appropriate for children.
Creativity is at the heart of my setting. I am known for being a highly creative person and take great pride in planning activities that are
engaging, visually appealing, and fun, ensuring children achieve the best possible learning outcomes. I love using my imagination to create
exciting play experiences, such as acting out adventures like ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. Music, dancing and singing are a big part of my
days.
I am never afraid to get messy, dance in the rain, splash in puddles, or sit happily while children play hairdressers with my hair. I place myself
at the heart of the fun, fully involved in their play and learning. I am never afraid to be silly if it makes children smile, laugh, and feel
confident.
I like to provide a wide range of engaging resources that I regularly change to keep learning exciting. I take pride in creating special moments
that make childhood feel magical and memorable.
I believe it is extremely important to be fun, approachable, and nurturing in my work with the children I care for. I want their time with me to
be memorable and meaningful, giving them the confidence and extra encouragement they need as they prepare to start school. I am deeply
committed to supporting each child’s development and will do everything in my power to give them the very best start.
It is extremely important to me that parents can see how happy and engaged their children are. I enjoy regularly updating families with
photos and sharing the fun, learning, and adventures we experience together. Adventure and exploration are at the heart of my approach,
and my goal is for children to look back fondly on their time with me, remembering their childminder and all the wonderful experiences we
shared.
It is my passion to truly get to know each child, understanding their individual likes, dislikes, and interests so I can tailor activities that inspire
and motivate them. At Bonnie Bears, we love the outdoors, nature, and wildlife—going on bug hunts, exploring our environment, and
discovering that adventure really is out there. We also enjoy real-life experiences such as visiting the library, shopping, and cooking together,
helping children build confidence and independence.
My aim is for every child to feel happy, secure, and excited to come each day—and to look back on their time at Bonnie Bears with fond
memories of fun, adventure, and learning
We are open Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:00 I run on a term time only basis, offering some holiday clubs throughout the holidays.

At Bonnie Bears Childminding, I am committed to providing an inclusive environment where every child feels welcomed, valued, loved, and
supported. I recognise that all children are unique and develop at their own pace, and I ensure my provision meets the individual needs,
interests, and abilities of each child.
I promote equality and diversity through play, resources, books, and activities that reflect different cultures, family structures, abilities, and
backgrounds. I adapt activities and routines to ensure all children can fully participate, offering additional support where needed to help
every child thrive.
I work closely with parents and, where appropriate, other professionals to ensure consistent support and the best possible outcomes for each
child. My aim is to create a nurturing, inclusive setting where children feel confident, respected, and excited to learn every day
