I’m Shannon; a mother of two with over 10 years’ experience working within primary education. I hold a BA Hons in Childcare and undertake CPD regularly to ensure I meet regulations and am able to provide the best care possible.
I childmind from my home in Oulton Broad. I have a tortoise called Lux, which the Dinky Dots seem to adore. The children have free range to explore and play, including a large living room area and a playroom set up to encompass the EYFS and ignite imagination, creativity and a love for learning.
The EYFS underpins everything I do to ensure children in my care are nurtured, challenged, and safeguarded.
Supporting young children to develop and grow a love for learning has always been my passion and as a mother myself, I understand that finding and trusting someone to care for your ‘whole world’ can be difficult. I keep parents updated with care routines throughout the day on an app shared with parents called ‘Famly’. This is also where I share observations and photographs of your child with you.
I want to shower your children with experiences and activities that will help them understand the world around them along with supporting other areas of development. I often visit messy play groups, libraries, parks, the beach hut, the woods on my doorstep and many other places led by the children’s likes and interests.
I childmind on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8am-5pm. Please do discuss any hours outside of this time window with me as it may be a possibility to accommodate additional hours or days.
I aim to offer care to children under 5 as a priority but do offer school pick up from The Limes Primary School. Please email me to discuss any funding enquiries.
I have experience working with children with a range of complex and special educational needs (SEN). As an inclusive setting, I welcome all with no prejudice and tailor care to the individual child to try and give them the best possible outcomes. My professional development reflects this.
