My name is Rachel Williams and I have been a registered childminder since January 2022.

I live with my Husband Mike, our 6 year old son and our newborn son.

I began my childcare journey in 2000. I worked in a nursery as a student and gained my NVQ Level 2 and NVQ Level 3 in Childcare at Aylesbury College. During my time at the Nursery I worked as the Pre School Room Leader before being promoted to Deputy Manager and then Acting Nursery Manager to cover another Managers maternity leave. In 2006 I left the Nursery to pursue my dream of becoming a Nanny, caring for children in their own homes. I nannied  for 15 years and I worked for some wonderful families looking after children aged from newborn up to the age of 8 providing stimulating activities and enjoying outings to the local woods and picnics in the park.

In 2021 I decided to take the plunge and become a childminder to provide childcare in my own home, I felt this would be a better career choice for me to fit in with the changing needs of my own family as my son was starting school whilst still being able to do the job that I love.

My aim as a childminder is still very much the same as it has always been during my childcare career which is to provide children with a safe, stimulating, caring and loving environment with lots of opportunities for them to learn and discover the world around them.

I offer a home from home environment where children are encouraged to express themselves freely. I have a range of toys and equipment both inside and outside in the garden such as a slide, trampoline, sand pit and a mud kitchen. Children are encouraged to choose what they would like to do and what toys they would like to play with. Every week we go out and take part in different activities such as music groups, toddler groups, the local library, the petting farm just down the road from my house and we occasionally travel to the local woods for woodland walks. We have a small park opposite our house which we make good use of.
