Holmer Green

About Me

Hello, I’m Rachel – a passionate and experienced childcare professional based in Holmer Green.

With over 16 years in the early years and family support sector, I bring a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to my childminding setting. My background includes roles as a nursery room leader, weekend respite carer for children with SEND, and a decade as a family support worker across two local authorities. Most recently, I’ve focused on supporting families with children aged five and under—offering guidance around child development, SEND, behaviour, and daily routines.

I pride myself on creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children feel secure and supported. My approach is holistic: I work closely with families to identify needs, offer practical support, and connect them with relevant services when needed. My setting is fully aligned with the EYFS framework and reflects my commitment to safeguarding and high-quality early years care.

I live in Holmer Green with my partner and our two young children (aged 2 and 5). Since moving here over a year ago, we’ve fallen in love with the calm, welcoming, and child-friendly community. As a family, we enjoy exploring the local area through nature walks and attending community events and fun days. Holmer Green truly feels like home, and I’m excited to offer a warm, engaging childcare space within this lovely village.

My passion lies in helping children learn through play. I’ve created a stimulating and inviting setting where little ones can feel confident to explore, grow, and thrive. If you’re looking for a childminder who combines professional expertise with a genuine love for children and family life—I’d love to hear from you.

My Setting

My setting is located on a quiet road in Holmer Green, we’re lucky to be within walking distance of a sensory garden and Holmer Green Common — perfect for nature walks and outdoor play. Penn and Wendover Woods are just a short drive away for further adventures.

I offer a warm, home-from-home setting where children are encouraged to express themselves freely and choose their own activities. Our garden features a slide, trampoline, sand pit, and mud kitchen, alongside a wide range of indoor and outdoor toys.

Each week, we enjoy a variety of enriching outings that support children’s development through play and exploration. These include music and toddler groups, library visits, fruit picking, and woodland walks — all designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and nurture a love of learning.

I work closely with families to understand each child’s unique strengths and challenges, and I make thoughtful adjustments to help everyone thrive. Whether it’s adapting activities, using visual supports, or simply offering a listening ear, I’m here to make sure every child feels valued and included.
