My name is Katy and I live in a little village called Cowling. I have lived here for 4 years. I have 2 children Oscar and Isla. I gave birth to Oscar in April 2020; this was when I was inspired to set up my own childminding business.
I have worked in Early years for around 18 years. I have worked as a nanny, nursery practitioner, room supervisor in a nursery, a deputy manager of a nursery and even as a children rep on a cruise ship!
I have my foundation degree in early years (level 5), BTEC and NVQ level 3 in Early years. I am paediatric first aid trained, have my safeguarding certificate and have an advanced DBS check.
I offer high quality childcare following the EYFS curriculum. I have a separate playroom with en-suite bathroom. In the play room I have a wide range of activities and resources tailored to a variety of ages. The children have access to everything that they can see. I love to promote free play but will also plan activities to help develop children’s next steps. The children also have access to an open plan kitchen/living/dining area with patio doors onto a large secure garden area. The garden is part flagged and part grassed.

I am happy to take on any baby or child within my registered numbers as stated on my registration certificate. I will not discriminate against children or their families for reasons such as race, religion, sex or ability. I would however like to make the following statement:
“I am happy to provide care for children with special needs, providing that my setting is suitable and that I have received the appropriate training to provide them with the care they need. (For example, I will not be able to provide one to one care or look after a child in a wheelchair due to the layout of my setting). This is in accordance with additional support needs legislation / the SEN Code of Practice.”
Drop off and pick up at Cowling primary school and Cowling pre-school.
