Hi my name is Charlotte and I am a newly qualified childminder based in Hertfordshire. I live with my parents and 3 of my siblings, my brother aged 10 and my sisters aged 6 months and 16 years. Everyone over the age of 16 in the household is DBS checked.
I come from a big family with children of all ages and helping look after them, alongside being a nanny and babysitter to multiple children, made me realise I want to pursue a career in childminding. Building strong relationships with children and their parents and being part of their developmental journey is so rewarding.
I have previous experience looking after children with multiple allergies, including caring with children with epi pens, and also caring for children with Special Educational Needs.
My hobbies include baking, arts and crafts and I love being outdoors with the children and exploring different places every day.
I hold a qualification in Working with Children, Young People and their Families, a DBS on the update service, Food and Hygiene Certificate, alongside a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate and up to date Safeguarding Training.
Indoor activities and play will be based within the open plan dining, living room with outdoor play mainly taking place in the enclosed back garden. There is always access to a wide variety of age appropriate toys for free play including plenty of books, building blocks, puzzles, cars and so much more! The children will often engage in planned, supervised activities and using lots of different everyday experiences such as cooking, water play, painting and crafts, role play and small world play to ensure each child will be supported in the 7 main areas of development.
I love getting out of the setting with the children and continue the learning outside of the home, therefore there will be chance for children to interact with others their age at places such as the local stay and play groups, the local library, farms, the local playground and many more!
There is a play park and open green space adjacent to the home which we will visit frequently. The setting is based in a small village which is home to cows, horses and lots of other wildlife, creating many learning opportunities, and there is also a local woods within walking distance.
I love incorporating the children’s special interests in the activities that I plan helping spark their imagination and to keep them engaged and learning.
Healthy snacks such as fruit will be provided to help promote the importance of a healthy balanced diet to the children.
Open Monday - Friday Opening times: 08:00 - 18:00 I can be flexible with the opening times subject to a conversation with the parents.
I accept childcare vouchers, funding and 2&3 year funding.
Age range: 6 months - 8 years
I offer school pick up and drop off at Someries Infant and Juniors School and Hart Hill Nursery.
My setting is inclusive and I strive to work in partnership with parents and carers to provide an accessible provision which supports all children to reach their full potential.
