Hello, and welcome!

I'm a home-based childminder living with my husband, who is a firefighter, and our four children aged 5, 10, 16, and 20. Our busy family home helps create a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment for the children in my care.

I previously worked within the NHS as a Maternity Liaison Officer and Maternity Support Worker, which inspired me to follow my passion for early years and become a childminder.

I have a genuine love for working with children, especially in their baby and preschool years. I am naturally very nurturing and take pride in creating a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where children can grow in confidence and enjoy learning through play.

Outside of childminding, I enjoy keeping fit, hiking, spending quality time with my family, and entertaining—values I bring into my setting by encouraging active play, social interaction, and a positive atmosphere.

I hold all essential training, including Safeguarding and Enhanced Paediatric First Aid, and I am committed to ongoing professional development.

Working closely with parents, I aim to provide a consistent, high-quality experience where children feel happy, safe, and excited to explore each day.

I offer a home-from-home setting where children feel comfortable and part of everyday family life. My aim is that every child in my care feels happy, safe, and valued, and is praised and encouraged in all their achievements. 

 I have a dedicated playroom  with a wide range of toys and activities for all age groups, carefully chosen to support each child's development and learning. There is also a book corner where I encourage a love of reading. We enjoy sharing stories every day, and the children love choosing their favourites.

My setting includes a safe and secure outdoor garden where we spend lots of time. I provide daily tuff tray activities alongside outdoor equipment such as cars, slides, a trampoline, footballs, balance beams, mini golf, and more helping children stay active, have fun, and develop their physical skills.

I follow the EYFS framework while strongly believing that children learn best through play and social interaction. We go out every day and regularly attend toddler groups where we meet other childminders, giving children valuable opportunities to socialise and learn alongside others. We also enjoy weekly outings to places such as zoos, farms, local play areas, as well as visits to the beach, parks, and woods.
