Hello! I’m Aimee. I am a qualified Primary and EYFS teacher with over 10 years of experience in schools. I have
also worked as a nanny at a summer camp in USA, and as a children’s princess party entertainer. I am a
mummy to two boys, aged 6 and 2, who are my whole world. I adore spending time with them, taking them to
see new places, and teaching
them new things. My passion lies with books and reading – I am an avid reader myself, and love to share my
love of literature with children. I also enjoy arts and crafts such as sewing, scrapbooking and digital design.
My Home Nursery is inspired by the Curiosity Approach and discovery-based learning, where little ones are
encouraged to explore, play, and learn at their own pace, through real-world experiences, hands-on play, and
meaningful interactions.
I have a cosy, spacious home with a dedicated playroom full of high-quality toys and resources, plus a lovely
outdoor space and the park just down the road, perfect for big adventures and little explorers!
I organise learning around daily, weekly, or monthly themes, covering everything from dinosaurs, farm
animals, and oceans to seasonal celebrations like Easter, Christmas, and Halloween. I select these themes
based on the children’s interests and developmental stages. Each theme includes a variety of activities, from
arts and crafts to outings, sensory play, and more. I also refresh the displays and resources each week to
match the theme, keeping the learning environment engaging, vibrant, and full of excitement for the children!
We also head out regularly to playgroups, toddler sessions, the library, the community garden, and even the
local farm.
Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
I offer the government 30 hours funding, Tax-Free childcare payments and can provide receipts of payment for Universal Credit claim backs.
I provide an inclusive environment where every child can learn, play, and thrive. I offer multicultural resources
and celebrate a wide range of festivals and traditions from around the world, helping children explore and
appreciate different cultures. Activities are carefully adapted to suit all children, regardless of age or stage of
development, and the environment is tailored to meet individual needs, for example, providing floor-level
activities for non-mobile children and offering a variety of seating options. My aim is to ensure that every child
feels valued, included, and able to fully participate in everything we do.
Links with Nurseries
I maintain links with the local community by regularly attending toddler groups and play sessions. Drawing on
my background as a primary school teacher, I also have a thorough understanding of the primary school
application process, local schools, and what children need to be ready for school. This ensures that each child
and family is supported in a smooth transition into their next stage of education.
