My name is Trudie Roe, I have lived in Hagley nearly all my life and have two (nearly grown up) children of my own. I have twenty years’ experience of working with children as a teacher, sixteen of which are in Early Years.
Just like most childcare experts I am extremely passionate and committed to my job. It is my firm belief that nurturing children and developing good social and emotional skills underpins all areas of development whilst empowering them to be confident learners. I take pride in nurturing and guiding children to enable them to have strong foundations on which to build. Encouraging children to develop an enquiring mind is a fundamental part of my role.
I began my career as a KS1/Early Years teacher but soon found my heart lies in Early Years. I am passionate about Early Years and love my job, it can be noisy, challenging, and unpredictable and of course messy but I believe that these formative years are the most exciting and important years of a child’s life. A child’s experiences in their early years will form the foundations on which they build their future which is why it is so important to get it right.
I have always had strong relationships with the children in my care. As a childminder I believe this bond has even more importance for both the child and for their parent to know that they are happy and secure with someone they can trust. Sharing in the children’s successes and watching them flourish and grow a truly precious and rewarding experience. Working in Early Years is a privilege.
I aim to provide the best quality provision where children will play both indoors and out. Our large garden allows for plenty of room for children to run around, explore and challenge themselves in a safe environment. There is a large woodland area set up specifically for the children with climbing, mud-play, sand-pit, building, digging and mud-kitchen with lots of messy play and water so please don’t send your child in their best clothes! There is lots of equipment to help develop your child’s gross motor skills, physical development, and independence. Loose parts play on both a small and large scale will help them develop their independence, problem solving skills and creativity, and this is provided both inside and out.
I aim to give the children opportunities to explore and widen their horizons through the provision of new experiences, be it a sensory experience at home or a trip or outing. When you child is with me, we will sometimes attend local playgroups and go on trips to the library, farms, parks and any other places where the children can learn and play safely and sometimes meet with other child minders.

I am a qualified teacher and SENDCO and I specialise in Early Years. I do not offer wrap-around care as I focus solely on pre-school Early Years care from birth-five. I accept funded places.
I operate an inclusive provision where all children are supported and nurtured with their individual needs in mind. As a qualified SENDCO I have a wealth of experience to support children with special needs and ensure that my staff are well informed and trained to support our children.
I tailor activities based around children’s individual schemas meaning that learning and play are individualised.
Our setting is a safe and loving environment where children are nurtured to build confidence, curiosity and independence. Nurture is at the heart of our setting where we encourage children to lead their learning through play and follow their own interests. We are passionate about child development and encourage the children to flourish through giving them quality experiences to enable them to thrive, grow and aim high
I liaise with other local childminders and nurseries to share good practise, and ensure that children who attend multiple provisions are receiving a cohesive experience.
