I have worked within childcare for 25 years I started my carer within childcare straight from school by completing my Btec National Diploma in Childhood Studies (nursery nursing). This is a level 3 course and gave me a fantastic start with great knowledge. My first job after college was with one of the families that I did some work experience with. I was their live in nanny. I cared for 4 children aged from 10 months twins and their 2 older brothers who were 3 and 4. A very enjoyable but challenging first job at the age of 19!

Since then I have worked within day nurseries, working up to a manager position.

I throughly enjoy getting to know the children within my care and being able to provide learning and exploring opportunities to these children to enable them to grow and develop well and to the best of their ability. So it is amazing to be doing this within a small setting of my own.

Our setting consists of a purpose built cabin for the children to use and explore within. The cabin has double doors opening into our large garden where children can explore our small growing areas, sensory kitchen, bikes and scooters, space to play games and ball games as well as a large sand pit and larger equipment that can be used to build obstacle courses. We have several storage trunks around the garden containing many toys, large construction, craft items, happy Land too, to name a few. We believe that indoors can be outdoors, and children love to spend time in the garden so this is always an option to them. We also provide puddle suits to ensure they stay warm and dry if they choose to explore outside in the rain, wind and snow.
