Hello! My name is Sam, I am a mum of two beautiful children, a baby girl and a boy who is almost school age which was the reason why I decided to become a childminder. I have just over 10 years of working in the childcare sector including being a private Nanny for 0–2-year-olds, a Team Leader for 2-3’s and then a third in charge for a 0-5 year setting.

I have a Level 3 in Children learning and development and am currently studying BA Hons Early Childhood.

I am familiar with many aspects of children’s development including milestones such as weaning, potty training and general health and wellbeing. I really enjoy supporting children with their learning and development and it is an honour to be able to help them thrive. Creating a loving, nurturing environment has always been an important aspect of my work, and I am looking forward to sharing this with other families.

In my home is my partner, Mark, our two children, our dog Ellie and our Hamster, Jack.

Having children of my own means I have collected lots of different educational resources to help learning and development. I will be using the downstairs of my house which includes, living room, kitchen, conservatory and a downstairs toilet to carryout childminding. This includes areas such as a cosy book corner, role play kitchen and messy table. I also have a spacious garden with a sandpit, playhouse, mud kitchen and lots of other resources for the children to explore. There are local parks, woods and a green in which I will be taking the children on outings too. With parental permission I will also be taking the children to local attractions such as Colchester Zoo to enhance their learning.
