About Me

I am just starting my career working with children, and am planning to progress my qualifications in the near future with an apprentice in early years.
I am trained in Paediatric first aid, Safeguarding Children Level 1 & 2, Food Safety, and EYFS trained.
I have 4 years prior experience in care, working with the elderly, with dementia care, palliative care as well as experience working with young adults with epilepsy and cerebral palsy.
I have always loved care, and since becoming a mother my focus and my passion has become about childcare.
In my older teen years I babysat for multiple families and really enjoyed taking care of children. I think that is what lead me to a career in care.
I really enjoy getting to know the children within my care, helping them to learn and develop through fun, explorative and messy play.
I pride myself on my calm demeanour, my patienceĀ and my kind and bubbly personality. I hope to use these attributes in guiding the children in our care to be as happy as they can be, to explore activities and their surroundings safely, and to learn and grow while away from their homes and parents.

My Setting

Our setting consists of a purpose built cabin for the children to use and explore within. The cabin has double doors opening into our large garden where children can explore our small growing areas, sensory kitchen, bikes and scooters, space to play games and ball games as well as a large sand pit and larger equipment that can be used to build obstacle courses.
We also have exclusive use of Tacolneston Village hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The village hall offers a very large space for the children to play. We set out multiple different areas of play within the space, for example construction, role play, home corner, cozy story area, tuff tray zone and more.
The village hall has a wonderful enclosed outdoor space for the children to play safely and again we set it up with different activities like a sand pit, brilliant mud kitchen and water play, there is an undercover area as well so the fun can continue even when the sun isnt shining.
We also provide puddle suits to ensure they stay warm and dry if they choose to explore outside in the rain, wind and snow.
