I am a 45 year old childminder based in the uphill area of Lincoln. I live with my husband Ben and two children, Emmie who is 11 and Arthur who is 6 years old.

I have been working with children for the past 25 years. I have been a childminder for the past 6 years. Before I worked as a childminder I worked in a day nursery as a deputy manager for 14 years. Previous to this I worked as a nanny for a local family. I have a passion for working with early years and love giving children a variety of learning and experiences. I am a great believer that a lot of children’s learning can be done in the outdoor environment. We enjoy trips to local parks, woods, farms and open spaces. I have a well set out open plan home where I set out a variety of adult led and child led learning experiences.

My setting is an open plan down stairs area. I have a play room on the front of the house where I store toys and have a role play area in there with a play kitchen. I set up a variety of adult led and child led activities including messy play, small world, construction, puzzles, stories, mark making and arts and crafts. I rotate activities daily and provide an enabling environment for children to grow and learn. I have an enclosed garden with a climbing frame slide, lots of ride on vehicles water and sand tray.  We enjoy outings to local places of interest.
