Hello! My name is Michaela, I am a former nursery nurse and teaching assistant, I also have my BA Hons degree in Special Educational Needs, Disability, Inclusion and Education where I achieved a first. I have my own family now and felt childminding was the perfect next step in my career. I love working with children and feel it is where I thrive the most.
Ensuring the safety and happiness of your little ones is paramount to my practice and I strive to increase my continuing professional development through ensuring training is is current and continue to develop my understanding more to ensure your children reach their best potential.
My setting is in my own home, where myself, my husband Kent and daughter Aleia reside. I love the idea of being able to have the children in a home so that they can feel comfortable there and at home themselves. Around my home are a few resources which I intend to utilize, these include parks, elvaston castle, libraries and stay and plays. I have my own car so am able to get to further resources if necessary but can also use buses.
Creativity is encouraged deeply in my setting and I enjoy fostering children's creativity through various means such as acting, dancing, singing, music, talent shows, and play. I firmly believe that these activities greatly contribute to children's development and well-being.
I also enjoy encouraging children led activities which is inlign with the Montessori method, actively playing and learning is important and providing children choices to be able to do that is crucial for their own development.
