I have been a childminder for 17 years and I still love every aspect of it. I have three grown up children, two of who live with me. I also have two dogs and four chickens. I work with an assistant Sam who has been with be for 14 years.
I have a good-sized setting with a large garden, all of which is dedicated to the children in my care. We have a purpose-built nature garden, where the children plant, watch mini beast, care for birds and other wildlife.
We both have a great deal of experience work with children and
our ethos is in line with gentle parenting, believing every child deserves kindness and feel heard. We respect everyone’s values and differences and inclusivity is key.
We have a good size play room and outside area. We have a nature garden where the children plant vegetables, grow and pick fruit, a bee house and a bug hotel, bird feeders that the children are responsible for.
We have a large grass area to run about and a chunky wooden climbing apparatus , this also houses our four free range chickens (Dazai, Mrs Cluck, Hei Hei and Cheeka). We have a patio area for ride on vehicles. We are always busy helping the little one develop in all areas of the Early years foundation stage.
