My name is Melanie and I live in Kenley.
I hold a level 3 qualification in early years, a degree in childhood studies and a masters degree in social care.
I have over 20 years experience of working with children & families in different settings. I have experience of nurseries, primary schools, nannying, girl guiding, summer camps in the USA, special educational needs schools & clubs, working with families affected by domestic violence and families needing support within the immigration system.
I live with my husband and my two children aged 6 and 3 years.
I love to be outdoors in all weathers, gardening and exploring new places are two of my passions, my setting reflects this and I am so excited to welcome children into our home.
We have a large detached house, using the living room for naps and our well equipped playroom for lots of fun & learning.
I have created our garden with little ones in mind, here you will find a playhouse, sand pit, investigation station, fruit & veg boxes, water trays, outdoor painting area and large grass space providing opportunities for children to learn & play.
Being outdoors, learning about nature and growing what we can through all the seasons is an ongoing theme here, we have an array of wellies & outdoor clothing waiting for the children!
We are very lucky to have many parks, forests, streams & playgrounds in our local area, offering a variety of locations for outdoor adventures.
There are many playgroups on different days that we are able to access, giving children opportunities to play & socialize with children outside of the setting. There are also many soft plays and farms we can visit regularly.
