I aim to be a home from home to encourage children to explore their curiosity and learning.
I have been in early years for over a decade now the only time taken out was to raise my own children. I have a BA honors degree in primary education and am currently looking at gaining my early years teacher training to improve the educational experiences I can offer. I have my NVQ level 3 in childcare learning and development and NVQ level 2 as a teaching assistant both of these were work based training so I gained the experience in a variety of setting both early years private and schools. I am just coming to the end of a level 3 SENCO course.
I fully believe that children need the chance to experience a variety of opportunities in their learning, with this in mind I make the most of experiencing the different outings offered locally whether this is the different parks close by or the farm a few minutes’ drive away, or the national trust properties, but a firm favorite is to make the most of our zoo membership and regular visit Dudley zoo and castle.
Is a small setting with a long garden and two rooms used for creating more space one a living room with games consoles and tv and table for arts and crafts aimed for the older children. My setting is set over one floor with each room leading into the next with a downstairs toilet at the end and finally the garden that has a sensory garden filled with herbs and textures to play with and a large area with trampoline and tree house style structure. The garden is used in all weathers.
We are animal mad with 3 cats Loki, Luna and Pumpkin, our dog is a lazy golden retriever named Roxie and our final is a chunky rabbit named Drax. I encourage the use of animals in learning experiences that support the children in learning about empathy and safe interactions and animal care.
The opening times are 6.30 am till 6.30 pm all year round.
I accept tax free childcare, student finance all age government funding.
I have a neutral playroom for arranged to promote sensory exploration and a minimizes the risk of sensory overload. My setting creates a calm space that encourages the children to explore, especially in sensory activities with most of my messy activities being taste safe which allows all ages to play and explore.
