My name is Jane and I am a qualified primary school teacher. I am based in Norton-upon-Derwent which is near Malton in North Yorkshire. I live with my husband, Mark and my two wonderful daughters- Alice, who is 6 and Ada who is 2. I wanted the opportunity to be around more for my own children whilst being able to look after and educate other young children. This is when I came up with the idea to open Sweet Peas Childcare.
I'd like to be able to offer families a home from home environment where your children can feel part of the family. Being a mother myself, I understand how difficult it can be to find good quality childcare that works for you and I'd like to be able to help. As well as taking pre-school aged children, I will also be offering wrap around care starting from 7.30 in the morning and ending at 5.30 in the evening.
I will be following the seven areas of the EYFS framework and providing a mixture of topic led and child led learning. Children will experience a variety of different activities including baking, messy play, crafts, outdoor play and many more. We are lucky to have a small, secluded park opposite our house which will be used all the time, as well a garden with a slide, swing, mud kitchen, sand pit and an old tractor tyre for climbing and jumping. There is also a local library where the children can choose new books for our reading area, a local soft play which we can visit regularly and a variety of different playgrounds and woodland walks.
Monday to Friday: 8.00am – 5.00pm
I have space for 4 children (on top of my own two children who will be 3 and 7) aged 0-8.
All Government funding for 2,3 and 4 year olds. Voucher schemes and stretched funding.
Wrap around from Norton Community Primary School.
Holiday care if space allows.
Quiet cul-de-sac with easy parking and access.
Small park opposite the house
Walking distance to other local parks, toddler groups and soft play.
