My Name is Grace Garrett and I am 33 years old. I live in Wollaton with my husband James and 2 children Louis (4) and Marcy (1). I grew up in Wollaton and will forever consider it my home and happy place. I studied Primary Education at Nottingham Trent University which was a 4 year course that gave me qualified teacher status. I specialized in the early years and that is where my love for working with young children began. I have since gone on to work as a primary school teacher and early years leader in schools over the last 10 years. After having both of my children, I have decided that I want to continue my passion for early education through becoming a childminder. I am passionate about child development, learning through play and the outdoors. In my spare time I love to read, listen to comedy podcasts, draw and be outdoors.
I live in a semi detached 3 bedroom house on a quiet cul de sac within walking distant of Wollaton Park, Harrison's plantation, and Martin's Pond. We will regularly visit the local library and toddler groups and link up with other local child minders. I am passionate about spending time outdoors to support children's well-being, physical development, provide awe and wonder as well as teach them about the world around them. The toys and activities I have on offer at home are available throughout the day for the children to choose based on their interests. They are carefully planned to provide opportunities in all areas of learning and are planned in response to the children's next steps and stage of development. I have a safe enclosed garden with a mud kitchen, sand and water play as well as a slide and other physical resources for the children to play with.
Monday-Friday 7.45am-5.30pm
I can offer wrap around care for Middleton Primary School.
I can offer tax free childcare, 15 and 30 hour funding.
I have experience of working with children from all backgrounds and with a range of SEND needs through being a teacher for 10 years.
