I’m Claire, I’m married with four children. We live on the edge of the Pennines and only a stone’s throw away from the beautiful Hollingworth Lake Country Park. We have three family pets - a dog (Buddy), Cat (Bella) and George the Tortoise. Any child joining my provision immediately becomes part of our family and I do my best to help them settle through parent partnership and engaging with the child’s interests.
I am an experienced Early Years practitioner and feel my previous work as a SEND Playworker, Teaching Assistant, CAMHS Nursing Assistant and Learning Mentor (as well as my previous childminding experience) has helped shape and inform my provision, focusing on promoting positive emotional wellbeing and nurture. My love of working with children also helped me achieve a First-Class BA Honors in Early Years Education at Liverpool Hope University.
Since having my little boy, Sonny, and being on maternity leave, it has made me reevaluate my vocation and I’ve decided to return to Childminding with a passion for delivering high quality, fun, child centered learning to help children thrive in a safe, loving and cosy environment.
My setting promotes positive wellbeing. During our day we practice elements of Mindfulness, and the HYGGE approach to learning. I have a love of nature and many of our activities will be focused on nature, forest school type activities and the great outdoors. We enjoy going for walks, adventures and to explore our local community as much as possible. I see my provision as one big, exciting journey where the children who attend grow, thrive and develop holistically - in all areas of the EYFS curriculum. We attend local play groups, trips to National Trust sites, Museums an go on lots of exciting trips and nature craft focused excursions. Cooking and crafting with the children is also my happy place. I have links with a Mindfulness Teacher, Hygge Practitioner and Yoga Teacher as well as Classes that promote Makaton and Sign Language.
Monday- Friday 7:00- 5:00 Term Time only places
I accept the subsidised government funding hours and childcare vouchers.
I have experience of working with and caring for children with a variety of needs, SEND and complex needs. I am passionate about removing any barriers surrounding children’s learning and development and I will always work hard, with parents and carers, professionals and educators to meet the needs of the children in my care and be inclusive. I will always undergo any training relevant to helping and improving the outcomes of children in my setting. Parent partnership and communication is a key feature of the way I work.
