My name is Caroline and I am 47 years old. I have 3 daughters and 2 grandsons. I also have a very friendly dog.
I became a registered childminder in March 2017. I have always been very maternal and becoming a mother was the best thing that ever happened to me. However as my children got older, I missed all the teaching and nurturing, the excitement of showing them new things and watching them develop their own little personalities. I was definitely made to be a childminder; it is my one true calling.
Just knowing I can shape a little ones future by helping to give them the best start in life is an amazing feeling. I am privileged to do the job that I do and I never take it for granted.
I have a bright well lit spacious playroom that I work from that is completely separate from my living room. There are many resources for the children that cater to all different age ranges. I have a safe, enclosed front and back garden. I am a very much home from home setting.
There is plenty of parking outside my setting, no double yellow lines to worry about! It is also not situated on a main road.
The top of my road see’s a bus route that runs into town and the surrounding areas. The buses are every 10 mins.
My opening days and times are – Monday – Friday 7.30am – 5.30pm All year around.
I offer the Government funded hours, I am signed up to the Government vouchers scheme. I currently don’t offer any school drop offs/pick ups.
I treat all children and their families equally and with respect. I support and include every child, regardless of their culture, background, ethnicity, language, gender, or disability. I provide resources that reflect the background of each child.
I think it is very important to work in partnership with other childcare providers, especially if one of the children attend another setting/nursery. This will provide an opportunity for consistency, support and advice.
I currently have a child at my setting who also attends nursery.
