About Me
My name is Alison Deri, I have been childminding for 8 years and before this I was a primary school teacher for 20 years. I have three children aged between 15 and 21.
My experience as both a teacher and a mum has given me a broad skill set. I believe that nurturing children and guiding them to develop good social and emotional awareness is the foundation for the best potential for learning.My Setting
I work very closely with another SCA registered childminder, Pippa Hibbard, this offers experiences of learning and socialising within a larger group whilst maintaining the benefits of being within a home from home environment.
We do outdoor activities visiting parks, playgrounds, woods, farms and garden centres. I have a small garden in which we grow vegetables, have a play shed, and a Tuff Spot for play activities . We do craft activities, baking and there are lots of opportunities for child led, free choice play.
Above all, I aim to provide a warm and welcoming environment.
